My Magic bus

I came across this really cool photoshop’d photo that Webtrance from Deviant Art put together, and so I decided to add a little touch to it!
Here is a before/after look:

Bahrain to host Imagine Cup 2008

Imagine Cup Gulf 2008

The World’s Premier Student Technology Competition

Microsoft encourages young people to innovate by using their imagination, creativity and passion for technology in order to make a difference in the world. Currently in its fifth year, the Imagine Cup has grown to be a global competition focused on finding solutions to real world issues. Last year, the United Arab Emirates hosted the preliminary contest to select a winning team. A group of students from UAE‘s Zayed University won the contest and headed off to the World Finals in Korea to represent the Gulf.

It was recently announced that the Kingdom of Bahrain will host Imagine Cup 2008 for the Middle East preliminary competition and the winning teams would compete at the 2008 World Finals in Paris, France.

What Should I read Next?

Shakespeare & Co

I came across a very useful site that recommends book titles to read after you submit the title and author of your favorite book. The best thing about this site is, unlike Amazon, it doesn’t recommend specific books based on buying patterns or anything in order to just sell; “It is purely based on items that real people actually like”. These guys do get a small percentage from Amazon if you buy the books through their website - and its only enough to keep it on-line. Its an amazing project!

Wifi detecting T-Shirt

This is by far the coolest t-shirt ever! Wear it, turn it on with a press of a button, and it will show you the strength of any Wireless Internet Access Point it detects. Pretty cool, it totally beats the digital shirts we bought from Dubai.

You can get the Wifi tee from thinkgeek.com.

Marble Slab Creamery in Bahrain

Yummy!

My good friend, UmAbdlwahab, blogged about Marble Slab in Dubai… Tonight at Seef Mall in Bahrain I happened to see it there and was able to taste the “freshest ice cream on earth”. It was amazing. I love how they actually made it right in front of your eyes. It also tasted really nice, I ordered the Willy Wonka, which consisted of Double Dark Chocolate ice cream with chocolate chips and fudge. I wanted to add cookie dough, but I thought that was enough. It was mixed on a very clean surface using a heavy spatula and ice cream scooper, just like in the picture, and then it was served in a cone dipped in white chocolate. You can, of course, choose whichever flavor and cone dipping you want.

All in all, I am glad I had the opportunity to try it out, I loved it. I am hoping they would open in Kuwait, but then again, we probably have too many ice cream parlors and the sugar intake would just kill us. They do have sugar-free ice cream, but I couldn’t resist missing out on the dark chocolate!

Very nice table at Midas

I found this table at Midas Furniture Store in Kuwait, and I absolutely loved it! Though I do prefer hand-painting my own version… hmm..

Midas has totally changed their furniture collection, seems so much like The One now.
