Helvetica Movie

photo from helveticafilm.com

Helvetica is a feature-length independent film about typography, graphic design and global visual culture. It looks at the proliferation of one typeface (which is celebrating its 50th birthday this year) as part of a larger conversation about the way type affects our lives.

It’s now released on a DVD that includes the full 80-minute feature film and over 90 minutes of additional interviews with people like Massimo Vignelli, Matthew Carter, Erik Spiekermann and Hermann Zapf. I recently watched the documentary and its amazing. I do recommend everyone to watch it, not just designers!

@Shay - I love the way you show your support for these artists… heh heh.

Helvetica is one of my favorite fonts. I’d be interested in.. er.. borrowing this movie whenever you ‘buy’ it. wink
