Adopting Gabby

Gabby

A few weeks ago we went over to pick up Gabby from Farragoes and Princesita. It was great meeting them, they are a wonderful couple. Gabby, the cat, is so cute and adorable! It was late and my brothers stayed up waiting at home to greet our new pet! It’s been a while since we last had a cat, so everyone was so excited.

When I told my youngest brother that the cat’s name is Gabby, he immediately asked me: “From what movie?”. So when I explained that pets are not always named after characters in movies, he just decided to call her “Duma” from a movie of the same title. He says Gabby looks like Duma, so that’s that.

Since I am out of the country, this is my sister’s report:

She’s a really great cat, and out of the dozen that have lived with us throughout our lifetime, she is the most obedient cat I have ever seen.

Duma is also very, very playful - which makes her a good match for my brothers. She likes playing fetch. We throw her toy mouse and she runs after it, and after awhile, she brings it back. Sometimes, she hides the mouse or sits on top of it, lol.

Tuna seems to be her favorite food. But she has this strange addiction to my small plant (the little one I put by my laptop). Whenever I leave my room, she jumps on my bed and chews the leaves. She runs away quickly if I return, as if she knows she is doing something wrong. I hid the plant for now… what is left of it at least… strange kitty.

When she wants some quiet time, she jumps on top of the boys’ closet (yes, mashallah, she can jump that high. It is very impressive) for a nap. She only comes down when she’s ready for action, and has had enough sleep.

After several weeks living with us, I think she finally feels comfortable and knows everyone. It took her quite some time to explore every corner of the house. But now she seems settled down at last, alhamdulillah.

PS. This cat can purr. Very Loudly.

That lil brat looks awfully familiar! wink

I’m glad she’s a happy cat with a happy family & as we Q8is say, “allah yekhaleekum 7ag ba3ath inshallah”. smile

About the plants part, I think she’s one of those cats who like to have a bit of ‘veggies’ in her diet. I saw online this grass thing that cats like to eat straight out of the pot, not sure if they sell it in Kuwait though.

Awwww shes gorgeous mashallah!!!!
Being playful is defininitely true, she wont give it a rest sometimes lol, she does LOVE fishy food yes but she doesnt like kibbles very much, unlike Mouse, who like kibbles and hates fishy stuff, he prefers beef, chicken and turkey flavoured kitty food:)
Plants....ahem.....yeah I have them all over the apartment, shes quite fascinated by them:), better keep an eye on her whenever she tries to come near them as some plants can be quite toxic
Shes very adventurous and will explore every inch of your house, she loves to run about alot so having her live in a big house is perfect for her:)
Hehehe her purring is so loud, my husband used to say “hathi sayara mo ga6wa” lol!
Thank you so much for the update girls, its good to see my baby Gabby(now Duma;)) doing very well:)

A car is an understatement. I used to feel the couch or bed rumble whenever she starts her demonic approach towards my ears. rasberry

And Duma it is! Suits her actually. smile

Battle Against Cats? lol, you chose the wrong place! I will tell my brothers about this!

Now, not only are they so full of themselves and think too highly of themselves, they also have humans to defend their ego!

Some cats I have met turned out better than some humans I’ve encountered here and there…
